Chicken Taouk

I am back home in Dubai. Back to my kitchen. I missed cooking food and posting recipes.

I did occasionally cook in Lebanon, but it was more desserts and cake orders rather than cooking food. But to me, my joy is to cook in my own kitchen. I miss you; my page; my blog and I miss being socially active. I am happy to be back on track !

During summer, I was following a Keto diet to which I lost 5 kgs. I still am following it, so you might see a lot of keto friendly recipes.I will try my best to share healthy recipes with you.

To kick this “season” off, here’s a Chicken Taouk recipe. In Keto, you’re not allowed to have carbs (ex: bread), so instead I ate them with lettuce. Trust me, they pair amazingly together. I strongly advise you to try it – whether you’re on a diet or not.

Ingredients:

Servings : 2 persons

Prep time : 4 hours

Cooking time : 20 mins

  • 750 g chicken breasts
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tsp tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice .

Instructions:

  1. Cut the chicken breasts into medium size cubes.
  2. Put them in zip lock bag with yogurt lemon juice tomato paste and all the spices.
  3. Marinate for at least 3-4 hours .
  4. Soak wooden skewers in water for 5 mins.
  5. Cut green pepper into small cubes. Start to insert the chicken cubes and green pepper into skewers.
  6. Using an electric grill ( or if you have an outside grill) start to grill your Taouk. They will take between 15-20 mins to be done. Keep on the rotating the skewers while grilling.
  7. Grill some fresh mushrooms as well.
