Have you tried the Mexican cuisine yet? It’s on my list of favorite International Cuisines !I’m positive you are all familiar with the “star” of our Arabic street food: Shawarma !But how about a mix between two of my favorite dishes: Chicken Shawarma and Tacos?
It’s a “match made in heaven”. Simply, mouthwatering !So, if you’re a fan of Mexican food but a bit worried about the jalapenos or spices, try the Chicken Shawarma Tacos.
It’s becoming my new obsession: mixing a foreign dish with a traditional Arabic one !My advice to you is give it a try… You won’t regret it !

Ingredients:
Servings : Makes 8 tacos
- 350g chicken breast
- 4 TBsp yogurt
- 4 TBsp olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 1/2 lemon juice
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp all spices
- 1 tsp sumac
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp white pepper
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried coriander
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- b1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 Avocado
- Soft tortilla wraps small size
- 1 small tomato diced
- 1 small red onion diced
- 1/2 bunch cilantro chopped
- 2-3 lettuce papers shredded
- 1/2 lime
- 1 small pickle diced
- Garlic paste
Instructions:
- For the chicken Shawarma : Use a kitchen hammer to flatten the chicken breast to have an 0.5 cm thick patties.
- Marinate the chicken breasts for 2 hours in yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic and all the spices.
- After marination, cut an onion in half. Put in a baking pan insert two skewers and start adding the chicken breasts patties. Add the second half of the onion on top.
- Bake in a preheated oven 200 C for 45 mins.
- For the Pico de Gallo mix : add chopped tomatoes red onions and 1 Tbsp chopped pickles together. Squeeze some lime juice and add a 1 TBsp cilantro.
- Once chicken is done, cut vertically on the skewers to have the chicken Shawarma shaves.
- Assemble the tacos: Spread some garlic paste on the soft tortillas. Add some shredded lettuce, 2 tsp Pico de Gallo, some pickles , chicken Shawarma and some avocado slices on top.
- Garnish with cilantro!
- Serve it hot with some french fries !
