“Moghrabiyeh Mo2alleyeh” or “trabelsiyeh” is one of our famous street food in Tripoli. It’s a must have every time you visit Tripoli’s Old Souks.

During Ramadan, there’s a popular tradition to have this side dish on ever Iftar table in the city!
It is quiet easy and taste heavenly!
Give it a try and if you ever visit my beloved City, #Tripoli, make sure to pass by “Al Dabboussi” and eat some 🙂

Ingredients:
- 1 cup dry moghrabiyeh
- 1 small onion
- 2 TBsp butter
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp caraway
- 1.5 tsp salt
- 1 cup cooked chickpeas
Instructions:
- Boil some water and add the dry moghrabiyeh.
- Cook for around 8-10 mins or until it is well done. The moghrabiyeh should become soft :
- In a pan add onions cut into medium size cubes with butter and saute until translucent.
- Add cooked and strained moghrabiyeh along with chickpeas and continue cooking.
- Add all the spices and cook for around 5 mins.
- Serve it with bread or alone with some pickles!
